What is this on the intake pipe?

What is this on the intake pipe?

Changing plugs today for my 60k mike maintenance, and I noticed this thing when I was removing the intake pipe. What in the world is this for? It looks like there is a pipe venting to the atmosphere.

is the other end closed off? It could be the sound generator if I recall correctly

I think so. I didn’t pay too much attention to it.

That is a sound generator. Just gives you some induction noise in the cabin when you mash it.
