Default Mirror casing gap.

anyone can help me to check if your mirror has this gap too? i just replaced the puddle light and realized my mirror has this gap on the inside while i checked the whole mirror case should line up already with absolutely no gap and all the 5 screws were already securely tighten.

thanks.

There should be no gap. I'm very familiar with these mirrors. You put them together wrong. you need to reassemble. i can tell 100% from your pics.

These require very careful reassembly or you'll get the gaps. they should require no fighting. if you do it right, they all slide together perfectly like a puzzle with minimal pressure/force.

Is it bad if there are gaps? My mirrors are the exact same way when I replaced the puddle light bulbs with LEDs.

it mostly looks bad. and is not correctly put together. so yeah in that sense, it's bad. it just takes some practice to get it right.

haha nice. yeah you have to jiggle all the pieces together just right. it's sort of a weird little design with flimsy parts. the GS, LS, IS, RC, CT all share that same mirror. Lexus definitely milked the R&D costs for that particular mirror design.

i like the new generation lexus mirrors better.

I know it's not directly related, but what is the bulb type/size for the puddle lights? I'm looking to upgrade mine to LED.

Wedge type 194 bulbs. Lots of mainstream MFRs offer them now. like sylvania.

Speaking of gaps, there was a lot of discussion about the Mercedes CLA door gap in various forums. This is not the only
Benz with the mighty gap. Here it is, in all its glory. https://www.mercedescla.org/threads/...door-gap.2763/

I purchased 2 packs of this to replace: 3 front map light, 3 back dome light, 2 vanity mirror light, 2 courtesy door light, 2 footwell light, 1 trunk light, and finally 2 puddle light.

Link:
Yorkim 6th Gen T10 Yorkim 6th Gen T10

All with the same T10.

However, the vanity mirrior LED flickers as i flip (or any movement) the visor. Anyone has idea what's going on?
