Hi guys, owner of 2014 IS350 with 25,000 miles. I've had this car since August 2013, and it has been running fine. Recently, no sound is coming out from all speakers. Someone asked me to hold the "main" button and turn the head light on/off for 3 times to enter the System Check Mode. In this mode, it says AMP: NCON. I suspect something is wrong with the amplifier? I'm can't even adjust the bass, tremble, etc. Everything is grayed out. Need some help guys. Does you know what the issue is? I really don't want to spend too much to fix this because I will be trading her in early 2020.
Seemingly common on the 3IS, particularly the 2014 models. You can see if you can find a used amp on ebay and swap it out (probably best bet) or take the amp to an electronics repair replace. I bet if someone gave me their blown 2014 amp i can open it up and find a fix for everyone. I bet it's a 50 cent part that goes off the rails. or could be a hard to find processor. you never know with these things.
Guys, I have some follow-up questions. Where is the amp located? I heard it's on the passenger side of the trunk. I opened the trunk but didn't see anything. Is the amp behind those panels? Also how does the amp look like and is it something that I can buy on eBay?
Why does it break now? I've have had the car since Aug 2013.
The amp is located on the floor on the passenger side of the trunk.
You will need to take some trim pieces off to access it. It looks like a rectangular metal box.
You will find a part number on it...you can use that to search eBay and other sites for a replacement.
