Will bad battery cause audio issues?
Hello all new to the forum and I have a 2016 IS350 F Sport and l love the car! though I am currently having audio issues and the sound will intermittently go out. I have checked most of the the threads and saw that it could be amplifier issues but I do no think this is my problem. I am currently in Palm Springs Ca and in the middle of summer after thinking about possible issues I thought it could be my battery?? Though I would like to throw this issue out to you guys and let me know what you think or any other advice before I take it to the dealership and spend half my day at it having them trying to figure it out. Thank you in advance to everyone that responds to this thread!
Have you tried taking your car to Autozone or another reputable auto mart that test batteries for free and have it checked and while you have them, see if they can check the alternator as well. This way you can eliminate them as the culprits. Hate to hear you having these issues, but which system do you have currently as well, any aftermarket components?
Well finally found the issue with my audio volume. I took it to the dealership Shottenkirk Desert Lexus in Cathedral City Ca., luckily I bought the platinum extended warranty. the technicians finally found that it was a bad amp and everything will be covered under warranty! Just wanted to give a shout out to Shottenkirk Lexus and James Simmons my service consultant for taking care of this issue. I would highly suggest if you every go to Shottenkirk for service that you go see James Simmons!
Glad you figured out what the issue was.
As far as your original question, the battery would really have very little to do with why the audio intermittently cuts in and out unless you were running it without the car on - so that would've made me think of the audio system itself and potentially bad hardware or wiring. On my other car, I changed my battery to an Optima Redtop because when the bass hit it dimmed my lights on the standard OEM batteries which weren't meant for powering anything beyond the regular electrical accessories of the car.
