This might be a stupid question...
So I hit a horrible pothole the other day and couldn’t swerve since I had cars on both sides and the sound it made from the impact was extremely loud. I literally thought something broke.
(I discovered a small chip in the rim today which sucks but that’s not the issue at hand...)
my HD2 radio stations have been working fine prior to me hitting the pothole...ever since I hit the pothole, NONE of my HD2 radio stations work...it says “NO HD SIGNAL”. The regular am/fm radio works fine...
could it it be at all possible that the impact from the pothole caused some damage to something with the HD2 radio antenna? I was really doubting this but given it’s been a few days and I can’t get my HD2 stations, I’m beginning to think something is bad due to the pothole...
Does HD2 use a different module or antenna or whatever? can anyone confirm? I’m under the impression that HD radio stations run off the standard antenna so if FM/am stations work, so should the HD2 ones...but I could be wrong.

Sorry to hear that. Obviously it would seem this is a coincidence but kinda odd you haven't noticed not getting HD Radio before.
I believe the HD Radio receives it's content via AM FM broadcasts. Also the cars are built to withstand vibration, bumps, rattles, etc over the course of years. So unlikely one bump, however large, would cause an issue like thst but you already knew that.
Do you get any other info still working which comes through HD Radio? Traffic? Weather? Ability to pause live radio?

In terms of the radio, the normal am/fm work fine and it does switch between HD sound quality when available but it's the stations that have HD2...for example in california, we have 102.7 kiis fm and then 102.7 HD2 evolution radio....any station that has the HD2 additional stations are not working...
I don't check/use the other services like the weather, or traffic (i don't think it's very accurate). google maps is my go to for traffic info.
