Default Wheel damage - paint chipped off

So apparently I curbed my one wheel? I didn't feel it, and honestly have no idea when it happened.

Regardless, when it got curbed the top layer of paint chipped off in the areas where it was curbed (zoom in on attached picture). Has anyone ever had this happen before? Is the Lexus dealership able to fix something like this?

That's a job for a body shop or a place that specializes in wheels. Maybe a dealer could handle it if they have an in house body shop.

Lexus dealers here just farm it out to repair places.

That is fine with me. The reason I'm asking about a Lexus dealership is so that I can get a rental car while it's getting fixed.

I'm late to the game here but I just joined the Club Lexus. I got my IS in November and got wheel damage in December - Bummer! I used a mobile service. Paid $150 with 1 year warranty. I have an unlimited car wash program and go at least twice a week and the rim looks great! See image...

Totally - if mine was an edge scrape I would have tried it. But this was 3 separate areas with the big scratch in the center of the rim. Plus the car was only 1 month old.

Maybe its where I live but I have never seen a wheel repair that last....whether its lack of good shops or the fact that people here drive their vehicle in the snow/salt but whether its wheel repairs or body shops, IMO, nothing last as good as the factory finish. I am OCD and if this was me, I would buy a new rim but again, I am OCD and I know I am dumb in that respect....

Same here. But they'll put you in a loaner car while they do it at least. Took them about a week for some reason on another car.

I had curb rash somewhat similar to this. Not as severe, but it looked like my wheel had a gash in it, pretty deep too. I took it to my dealer and they had a guy come in to fix it. 160$ and a hour later i was on my way and it looked good as new.

Yo,

Check out this DIY on fixing curb rash on your wheels for under $15. This thread definitely helped a lot, as well as saved me money. I've done this twice already to my rims!
