does anyone know if there is a brighter LED bulb that I can buy for the headlight? I feel as if the stock ones don't "light up" the road as good. I bought the car used and i don't think the owner ever touched or changed anything but i drove a prius the other day and the LED headlights on that car lit up the floor pretty damn good. (the beam was wide, and the covered areas were lit up very well).
I was hoping to achieve the same result with a brighter set of direct plug and play head lights...i don't want to modify any wires or install anything additional.
Assuming it's a 2014 IS350, no matter which trim level it's a HID bulb unfortunately they don't make LED equivalent of the D4S bulb. However, people have bought Universal D2S bulbs(this means that it can essentially lock into place of the D4S housing) but you will need to modify the connector. There is a FRS on youtube using the LastFit D2S Universal LED bulbs converting D4S to D2s. Looks like they might have spliced the wiring to install bulb connectors.
You can just get better HID bulbs from theretrofitsource, but there should be better bulbs(kinda expensive) than the Morimoto's. You will need to do some research on the brands that offer it and what kind of output color they produce.

sorry but the car indeed has LED headlights. I looked at the factory window sticker and asked the original owner. The LED headlights are an optional upgrade.
Would you happen to know if there are just simply brighter LED bulbs that I can directly change out? Or does this require a whole new system/wiring, etc.

Short answer is No. Can't modify them at all, eventually someone will figure out a way to replace the chip but the light output of the LED Headlights on the IS isn't that bad to be honest. I asked the same question to myself and if the LEDs are integrated there is no better chip than what Lexus is using.
LEDs can get brighter if you push more power to them but the downside of that is burning them out quicker and I don't suggest doing that but that is a possibility. If someone has the electrical diagrams you can probably get an idea where to modify but still wiring can take some much power before you notice issues. If you are concerned about brighter lights, why not have them swapped back to the standard housings if the original owner has them.
EDIT: I think you have to change out additional components as the "computer" is different between HID and LED.

He is saying the previous owner had the LED headlight housings on the car stock from the dealership as an optional upgrade he bought. To the OP, the LEDs in the housing are integrated and not really replaceable. They theoretically should last the lifetime of the vehicle. I recommend leaving this one alone, but if you insist then aftermarket housings would be your best bet then you can put whatever bulb you want in there. Not sure how that would work out electrically as the car would probably throw a code or something about the lights.
Just like Flash5 said, you might get a code. It's unsure since I haven't seen anyone with modified LED housings.
There are companies that specialize in retrofitting LED housings but that is very costly as that will require a lot of work to integrate a new LED chip to work.

Thanks for confirming the LED is integrated. If that's the case, i won't be messing with it. I was just hoping for an easy bulb swap that could enhance the light coverage a little. I'm fine with the light in general, was just comparing them with another car I drove that had better light distribution and coverage so i wanted the same...haha

I think the only thing you might be able to do with a "retrofit" is replacing the lens with a better lens. Some people do this for a sharper cut off and helps with light distribution.

I came from a BMW F10 and loved the headlights. I was also thinking the same thing with the LEDs. I tried adjusting the beams every way possible and still wasn’t satisfied with the output.
Ended up getting the Winjet fog light kit for bumper and trying a ton of different type of bulbs. Rigged up a test bench for bulb testing with a lux meter. I am happy now with the output of the IS.
Decided to go with Winjet fog for bumper and Morimoto’s HID kit for the fogs. 6000k bulbs seemed to be close to stock color than 5500k. Night driving beams are wider and more intense. Cutoff from the fogs worked out well. Also the fog can be adjusted up and down.

Unless you have some sort of designed-for-industry-specialists $10,000 lux meter, then a lux meter is only going to spit out random, meaningless numbers in front of a HID headlamp.
