I'm coming up on 30K miles on my 2017 IS-F Sport. The front tires look like they'll need replacing soon. The back tires have more tread left than the fronts. What's the current thinking about the need to replace all 4 tires at the same time on an AWD vehicle ?
Thanks ...

Reason: change model
For over 50 years and >1,500,000 miles on several cars, I've changed the rear ones 2X's to the front ones without an issue. If the car is front wheel drive, the front ones wear out twice as quickly. Ergo, no need to change all 4 at the same time unless all 4 need it. Also, on AWD, the transfer case has the tolerance to accommodate a new set of tires on the fron or rear. What I don't do is change only 1 side if there is a bit of mileage on the tires.

Impressive. I expect to get 20k or less at the rate I'm going.
I suggest you check your inner tread wear in the rear. A lot of people don’t realize their tires are no good from excessive toe wear.
I couldn’t agree more here, I had a different issue with my tires. The fronts appeared to have plenty of life left in them and the rears looked good up to the most inner side. It wore down to the belts before I had noticed.
The first pic is of the front, both sides looked the same, but you will notice the rears and what I am describing, the inner most area was worn out. I’ve since installed upper adjustable camber arms and have yet to notice uneven rear tire wear.
