Purchased the 2019 AWD IS 300 a few weeks ago. Great vehicle. The ride is very comfortable. Interior is elegant and the feel is outstanding. I like the acceleration of the V6. Really drives for two. Back seat is small. Truck is small. But I did t buy it for space. Feels like a sporty luxury ride.

You think the IS can haul around corners?

Fair enough. But, I think he was just saying that on average, a RWD-based car such as the IS is going to be more "fun" or "engaging" around corners, even if it doesn't have the utmost in ability.

I understand, and disagree. It's a heavy, fat cat luxury cruiser that's barely par on any performance level. But that's what I like about it, including the fact that a lot of it is old tech. Old in this case = reliable.

Yeah the IS isn't FAST fast, or the most advanced in terms of technology. Those issues, however, aren't what this thread is about - it was about general pros and cons of this vehicle ostensibly compared to other similar options. Compared to most cars on the road, the IS in any trim is more than enough for someone who needs one car that is both daily-able and not boring. So, OP, do not despair. VisualEcho simply has unusually high standards, which there's nothing wrong with.

I can't help it that my other car is a Lotus Exige .

But seriously, for what I paid for my '18 350 AWD F-Sport ($38,200), the car couldn't be beat for a sporty, luxury DD, and I fully recommend it to anyone who needs the same.

The is300 does not have the Adaptable Variable Suspension like the is350 is also worth noting...
