Default Fuel lid sub-assembly

Hi, all-
New to the forum, but have a unique question I haven't been able to find the answer to.
Winter was rather tough on my 300, and I need to replace the inner unit in the attached pic. I bought a replacement from Lexus, I have the lid re-attached, but after removing the 4 screws in each corner of the existing part, it doesn't pull out from the body.
Any advice how to remove this broken part?
Thanks!

If the vehicle is unlocked, you should be able to push on the circle on the right and it should pop out...like if you were opening the door to refuel the vehicle.

Thanks for your response - and that part I understand. What I'm trying to do is pull the entire unit out after removing the 4 screws, but it feels like something is still holding it in. I'm wondering if there's something up under the fender that might be holding it in?

I actually did this a few months ago on my 2018...its definitely a bastard to be honest..but it will come out.

Few notes..
1. You have to detach the gas cap lock mechanism. To access that electrical part you are going to have to remove some interior trunk trim pieces on the left hand side
2. You are going to have to remove the back wheel and the trim around the wheel well
3. The hardest part is removing the rubber seal around the fuel filler neck...your best bet is to push it from the back end when you have the wheel well trim removed

Let me know if you have any other questions..just post pics and I can tell you what to do..Myself I thought it was going to be an easy fix..but its never easy with foreign cars..

Koz1614 - thanks sincerely for your response!
I managed to get it fixed this last weekend - here's what I experienced-
  1. You are completely correct about the lock mechanism. I hadn't gotten so far as to disassemble the trunk -- I ended up tearing apart the old piece enough that I could see the mechanism from the outside - released that connection, and it popped right out.
  2. The first thing I did was remove the wheel and go up under the fender (after removing the 'dust panels' (sorry, not sure what else to call them). That really didn't help me, in my case.
  3. I noticed the rubber seal around the fuel filler neck was held in place by a really large c-collar. Once I removed that - and put the new part in place, I had to wiggle the rubber around the fuel filler neck, reinstalled the c-collar, and all was good.
Thanks again!
