Default Just got a Is 250 need help with wheels

Just got a is 250 buying some aftermarket wheels for the first time need help with fitment. I'm looking to get ESR RS01 am wanting to get 19in or 18in wheels not sure were to proceed from there. I know im gonna lower the car with rsr springs I am also not sure what kind of tires to get any recommendations will help thanks. I live in dallas and would prefer to buy meaty tires for pot holes and such.

Welcome to the forum.

Given the road conditions, I would suggest for springs, if you're going with RSR, is the Half Downs. It will give you a little drop and still be good for the roads.
The Downs might be much depending on how bad the roads are.
If you want more sidewall, then definitely the 18's would be the way to go, and you can run ones with less offset and a little wider than the stock F Sport rims.
Maybe 18x8.5 front and 18.9.5 rear.

I definitely recommend RSR Downs over Half Downs because the Half Down's drop is not significant look wise nor price wise. Just my opinion. If you're going to lower it because you want it to look better than the Downs will get rid of the wheel gap, the half downs will not.

agreed! especially if you have a RWD model it’ll be even more of a perfect drop, or if you have the money, go for coils that way you’ll have complete adjustability and you can do whatever you want! and for wheels, personally i think 19s are the perfect size for the 3IS, i’d suggest 19x8.5/19x9.5 (+30/+40) and run 235/35 in the front and 265/30 in the rear for a flush fitment that also looks super aggressive!

might i also suggest a 350 brake conversion to add to it! we did it to my friends IS250 and they look and feel much better especially if you plan on any performance upgrades

I agree with both the comments, the only thing would be the OP mentioned poor road conditions, so that is a consideration.
The Downs is the obvious choice, but may not be the practical choice for this scenario.

Yes, true. If you’re going to be hitting a lot of holes then definitely take that into consideration.

Front: 20x9 235/30
Rear: 20x10 235/30
RSR SuperDowns

Not a fan of the tire size choice on a staggered set up, but if you run a 19 with a little more meat on the sidewall you should be fine. EX: 19" wheels w/ 40 sidewall

Those wheels you want don't look bad but they may be too aggressive for a non f-sport. you'd then have an obvious imbalance. do you have f sport or not? and what color is your car? we should start there.

good modding and good design is all about balance. you don't want any one element to overwhelm the others. And you don't want the design overall to be overwhelming

Since this car is not a super high performance car, the most aggressive I would go are factory F sport.

slamming and dropping on 19" you just end up looking like the other slam bros on the block. So my advice is to go subtle.

You want to massage your car with the mod hammer. Not beat it senseless

I would go half downs, H-tech, Lexus F sport. All Professional mild adult drops. Combined with spacers, you can look professional, subtle, aggressive, capable all in one go. Make sure your car's bite can back up its bark.
