Question MultiMedia System keeps restarting

Hello,

From last couple of days my multimedia system keeps restarting. It sometimes restarts 5-6 times then stays for sometime and then restarts it. I read the forums where it was mentioned to remove the 15A fuse and then restart the car to see if that helped. It didn't. I removed the negative terminal of the battery. Waited 5-10 minutes put it back.Restarted car it was fine for a day then it started restarting again. Anyone noticed same kind of issues on their car? Anything which I can do for troubleshooting?

Thanks

Is your vehicle a 2014 without ML audio?

I have a 2017 IS 300 and have this problem. Seems to only occur in the winter with colder weather for me. I made several recordings of it happening and showed my dealer the video. They have ordered me a replacement which has just come in and I will be getting it installed next week.

Hope it resolves my issue.

My 2014 is350 fsport with ML did that, started with just occasional then eventually was constantly restarting. SInce my car was out of warranty I had to replace it myself. Went to a lexus master tech and the radio part alone was $2150 and had to be ordered through the dealership network.

I had this issue happen to me before, out of the blue it would just shut off and reboot as though the car had been restarted. I checked online and the forums to no avail. After a good week, of trouble shooting, I found that it only happed when I was leaving my iPhone, 6s at the time, connected via the usb to charge. It was the only other thing I could find out of the ordinary. I got a 12v charger started using it and had no issues since. Now I don’t know if maybe this could pertain to you, but I wanted to throw it out there. It did all happen when I first bought my 17 IS, it’s not a ML system, just the Nav system.

You may be into something about the iPhone. When I first got my car I rarely plugged in the phone to the USB port because my iPhone 7 was new and the battery lasted all day. However for the last year I have been plugging it in and that is when I noticed it reboots. However for me it only seems to happen in the colder months. (December - March) so I wonder if it is some sort of cold solder joint or Something.

Either way, they are replacing mine next week with a new one so we will see if it fixes the issue or not. Problem is I may have to wait until next winter to really know. Lol

Please do let us know for sure. I know mine stopped when I stopped charging it there. Since it stopped, I never tempted fate again, figuring the dealer would blame me for the units failure if I kept doing it.

I unplugged whatever was plugged into the USB ports. Its stable sometimes like for a day then next day its brutal. Just stuck in a loop

holy that is expensive. Did you look anything for aftermarket ones?

From what I found anything almost plug and play would required the OEM system to be functioning. Car wouldn't even read a USB as it keeps powering off and on.

My friend's 2G IS350 is having a similar problem. He can't turn on his fan/AC cause it's integrated with the main unit display.
