No transparency into if i will receive lease end bill
Can anyone who has been in the dark about their end of lease final payment help me out here?
A little background: I returned my '16 IS350 FS lease back in mid January to a local Lexus dealership with ~10K miles over my allowance. It's blk/blk and currently listed on the dealership site for sale as a CPO. The original for-sale price by the dealer was well within the 10 day buyout price.
I've called LFS to see if I have a bill coming and they've only been able to say, "if you do, you should expect it within 30-45 days of your ground date". Very transparent response, smh.
Is it possible that I'm in the clear? Has anyone received a bill well beyond that frame?
I recall reading a post somewhere a few months back when I was prepping for lease return where someone had their lease "bought out" by the dealership and was freed from LFS, i just can't seem to find it again.
I have the funds but would much rather keep it for myself, so any verifiable good news would be highly welcomed

By well within 10 day buyout price, i mean that the original for sale price listed by the dealership was just at or even above the buyout number. I don't recall the exact buyout but it was 31xxx, listed sale price 31,981.

If your Lexus store had not wanted the car and called Lexus Financial you should have received a bill for the 10K miles x .25/mile = $2500.
If you or the store bought it for the residual you or they would not be paying for the miles (or damage) but would just own a high mileage car.
They certainly would not have spent the time and money to 161-point inspect and $$$'s to repair and L/Cert without owning it so it appears
that they bought it and you are indeed off the hook.

Thank you for the quick response and insight!
I'm going to unhappily check my mailbox for the next two weeks just be sure, but I'm really hoping I am off the hook and hopefully the luck rubs off of others.

Did you purchase another Lexus from the dealer? Just curious....you are one lucky fella if you end up being off the hook for that many miles....
I read a post in the RX forum here where one guy said Lexus financial demanded the few cents he had owed them after lease termination. He had to send them a check for less than 30 cents.

Just sending an update.
I received my lease end statement and I infact do owe. I'm not sure what the extreme delay was looks like LFS is very unforgiving or willing to lose out on a cent.

We returned a toyota camry back in November 2018 and received the lease end statement in February of this year. I guess its just standard for Toyota/Lexus to delay the lease end stuff. They even tried to charge me for excess wear on the car when I returned it 6,000 miles under driven.

Just FYI, when you turn a car in at lease end, it may be weeks up to months even before the inspector comes out and checks the car. Then another couple weeks before Lexus sends a truck to pick up the car and take it away from the dealer. It's not uncommon for your car to sit up to 2, maybe even 3 months, after you hand the keys over. That's why it takes so long to get the final bill.

I had a similar issue with my lease return of my '15 GS350.
The car was impeccable when I turned it in. Fully serviced by my Lexus dealer, not a single scratch or rock chip, interior was perfect. One small door ding but it was within the size allowance stated in the lease paperwork. Tires were good, brakes were good, no curb rash, etc. Car was 13k miles under lease allowance.
About 6 weeks after turning it in I got a bill for $237 for damage, but no itemized list to give me any detail about the charges. I need to give them a call when I get the time.

^That's scary. I'd like to know what I'm paying for. I wonder if there's any obligation to tell you. Or if there's something in the contract that gives them full discretion. Especially surprised since it appears you leased (or otherwise took delivery of) another new Lexus. I'll be straight up returning mine.

The 15 GS was a straight up lease return, followed by a purchase of the 19 GS.

I may avoid leasing in the future. It sounds attractive up front but it seems they have a lot of discretion to pretty much charge what they want and for whatever they want. I clay and wax my car (among other things) and I bet you your average lexus owner wouldn't. And Lexus would benefit from that during resale, yet they'll charge you for a detail anyway for "reconditioning purposes." And there'd be no way of knowing if they actually did anything beyond a normal car wash using the guys in the back.
I don't know that they'd do any of this, but I certainly wouldn't put it past them.

That sucks, luckily I bought the wear and tear package. Lexus owes me over 4K in MSD. With this knowledge, I'd be hard pressed to lease another Lexus when my lease ends in a few months. The wait alone to receive the final bill is simply ridiculous and then to bill a current customer who returned a mint car is just adding insult to injury. I have never heard of this experience with BMW et al.
