A good reason to settle for US spec is due to the side of the roads we drive on call for a different headlight design. If you use JDM headlights on US roads, you'll throw light onto oncoming traffic and not on street signs as required by US law.
I forgot whether or not the OP accounted for this or whether or not he knew, but it is a big concern for using headlights not designed for the side of the road you are driving on.
otherwise it's a nice looking and well executed conversion overall

Hopefully he went for the Euro-spec headlights... Those would actually work fine.
