2017 IS350 clock & climate control lighting

When travelling at night the clock and climate control buttons are not illuiminated in my 2017 IS350F

Are you headlights on? Stupid question, I know. Just trying to rule things out.

Yes, lights working. Have always left headlight selector on "auto"...however at your suggestion, toggled the **** through the various settings and suspect lighting started working. Appreciate your reply.
