Awesome I knew it would fit. I remember a while ago someone was arguing with me whether or not it would fit. My argument was that the IS and RC share much of the same architecture and sheetmetal so the dimensions should work out to where it would fit. Firewall, crossmember, radiator support, shock towers. Of course I didn't know for sure.. just my hunch. that's how cars cut from the same cloth usually work anyway. (and yes I know the RC is made up of three different cars)

really neat. Did he just swap over all the exterior locks (trunk and door) and use the RCF key to open the IS

@beezmarkee You need to get on posting more pics. we need brakes, suspension, drivetrain, etc.
Did he use the RC driveshaft? or custom?
How much customization had to be done to the wire harness?

Read on someone else doing this...maybe same guy, but it all fit with the exception of the hood. Needed to be custom fabbed to be able to close. Otherwise I remember it was pretty seamless.

This is really awesome, although I was hoping that someone had installed the 3.5TT V6 from a LS500, just like what we hope to see in the 4IS.

Hello guys!

.

sorry for shortly and my bad english.

Spec listing IS 500:

1) Motor assembly 2UR-GSE
2) Automatic transmission
3) Drive shaft (need some customazing)

4) Cassette-style radiators with cooling fans (read below)
5) All front arms shock absorbers, springs, front levers, front hubs, brakes

Front suspension RC F kit, Full bolt on.

6) Rear suspension assembly (gear, subframe, cv joints, levers, fists, hubs)

7) Steering rack
8) Steering assembly + steering wheel
9) Exhaust system
________________________________________________________________________

It should be noted that Lexus engineers at the design stage prepared IS 3 for version 5.0, since the seats are fully positioned to accommodate an 8-cylinder engine. Automatic transmission, suspension arms and steering rack also installed in the regular places.

However, in the course of work faced with several problems:

1) The RC-F cardan turned out to be shorter by 7 cm, this problem was solved quickly simply by lengthening it.

Components of a cooling system

2) The radiator of the internal combustion engine was 5 cm high due to plastic barrels at the top and bottom, and the aluminum cells themselves were identical in height and width to mine, but the thickness was twice as thick as my radiator, it was decided to remove the plastic barrels and make them not aluminum so high (removing from above and below 2.5 cm).

At the same time solved the problem with the expansion barrel, it did not fit between the engine and radiators, and the RC-F poured antifreeze through the expansion barrels, nor did we have a 2.5 thermostat on the engine, it was decided to make a spout at the top of the radiator pouring antifreeze and pressure relief and installed our small expansion flank in a regular place (between the radiators and the engine). This problem was solved .

Additional radiators of the automatic transmission and the internal combustion engine of oil cooling were also installed, the radiators from the RC-F could not be supplied due to their size, they put a little smaller and of a different shape, this did not affect the quality of cooling.

2UR-GSE in da place.

ELECTRIC SYSTEM:
Replaced
1) all under wiring (it was spliced from two wiring is and rc-f due to the fact that different optics)
2) engine control unit
3) automatic transmission control unit
4) All fuse blocks under the hood
5) steering wheel unit
6) ABS unit
7) Air conditioning control unit
8) Gasoline pump with a float and an additional fuel line for the second row of injectors
9) Gasoline pressure regulator (standing in the rear left wing). Faced with one problem, it was the absorber (fuel vapor filter) was not on it and I decided not to install it, it’s purely responsible for the environment, but the check is burning without an absorber, I thought I would disconnect it programmatically, but it turned out nobody sews brains from rc -f. So while hung a snag.
10) Instrument panel.

Bonus:

1) Mouse kit for media-system

2) Front seats

By the way, you cant install RC F or GS F rims on stock 3IS front suspension, cuz front arms will be too near to rims.
