Amazing build! random question, are the RC-F seats just a straight swap? No modifications? I'm pretty sure I read through the entire thing and didn't see it mentioned.

From what I remember when they made the RC they used a lot of the IS's structure.
I was thinking about this, how does the motor integrate with the car?

Sub frame room with oil pan, mounts etc?
Is it a plug in play with the connectors or rewiring? Do you pull codes?
A lot of the times when change SC's engine the 1j and 2js basically plug right up to the body harness.
Was there any pain in the *** areas that took extra modifications?

How much would this whole project costs? I’m trying to find a Mark Levinson IS 350 with high miles right now. Honestly I was thinking of an RC F but would prefer the four doors with more room and I like this style better.

This is cool but putting RCF wheels, seats, interior pieces.. wouldn't this project cost more than just buying an RCF?

Yes, unless you want a four door RCF, which does not exist. I would love an IS500 in place of my IS350, as I need four doors, which is why I ended up in an IS350 in the first place instead of a GT350 (mustang that is).

"So just what did Lexus get up to? Well the under the RC is actually the harmonious existence of 3 distinct platforms. The front clip came from the GS sedan and was chosen for its extra width which was ideal for handling, the middle bit came from the extinct IS C because of its substantial rigidity and short wheelbase, while the rear end from the IS sedan. Mating these three together with something called laser screw welding."

You're better off buying a GS-F. Assuming you have a spare 3IS vehicle to do the swap for, the cost of engine + trans is $8000+ before you even get into any custom fab stuff itll require.

Not to mention the interior, better version of Mark Levinson, etc. in the GS-F, or the fact that it weighs the same as our 3IS...

I'm not trying to knock what this guy did but exactly.. just go buy a GSF at that point. I saw someone on IG replacing his whole head unit and center console with RCF parts which are costing upwards of $2K.. You might as well put a 2J in it
