2016 Key Fob Replacement
Hi Everyone - I am having a bit of an issue. I have lost one of my key fobs, the car is a lease so i am expecting to have to return two keys at the end of it. I had contacted the dealer and they have quoted me at $365 just for the controller and the programming. I was wondering if there were a more cost effective option?
any help is good help - I don't really want to spend the 365 for a car I will return in May.

If you go with a cheaper method. The problem you are going to have is Lexus going to accept an aftermarket key FOB?
Whatever you do. You need to do it as quick as possible. Just incase something happens to the last Key FOB

Are you somewhat tech savvy?
You can get the software and cable from eBay for less than $20, as well as a new un-programmed FOB for around $100.
Will need a Windows 7 or older laptop to run the Toyota software (at least I did, didn't work with Win 10).
Pretty easy to do, youtube videos to follow.
I did a previous write up on doing mine, seach for it if you desire.
If you have to have the physical key cut, take it to a locksmith, like $25 for "laser cut" key (which is not required IMHO).
