Default Transmission Shifting question

I have a 2014 IS350 F sport Rwd 8speed.

Question is, in Manual mode will the transmission up shift for you before hitting the limiter or can you just sit on the limiter and it wont shift until you hit the paddle?
Reason for asking is that my transmission will up shift for me just before redline no matter what combination of modes I have the car in (S+ M Trac off) yes press and hold Trac off.

would love some feed back from you guys.

Seems you answered your own question, no?

Transmission will shift for you. Which I actually like. Sometimes I throw it into M and let it redline-shift then I'll have it ready in low gear (numerically) when i need passing power or want to take a turn and power through it.

Ok so it will up shift at red line and not allow you to hit the limiter?

Correct, it does not hold revs.

I've actually had it hit the limiter a few times. When you're in manual with traction off and the road is wet it'll actually bounce off the rev limiter as it's fighting to get some traction. This was from 0mph (not mid driving) though while turning.

If you're in a turn, it will hold a gear for just a moment and let you bounce of the limiter in sport+ mode. Otherwise, you'll upshift automatically.

On my 2015, manual mode will shift at redline. Manual mode will only bounce off the limiter with Trac off.

I don't have sport+ in fact it wasn't even in sport, just manual.

Only the Fsport models will allow you to bounce off the rev limiter. Not sure about the AWD trans, but the 8spd will if you have an Fsport.

This is actually dependent on what year you have, on a 2016 it will bounce off the limiter if in sport + with TRAC off. On a 2018 it will bounce off the limiter then cut off fuel for a second. So it depends on your year.
