Default Best time to Buy?

I'm new to the forum and soon to be Lexus owner. I'm looking to trade in my BMW 3 series and purchase a 2016 or later IS350. I was curious with the multiple holidays and promotional events coming up when would be the best time to buy? Before/after Christmas, before/after New Years? I'm looking for pre-owned in the Atlanta area but willing to drive a few hours for the right deal.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

If you're looking for a used car, there is no best time to buy.

If you're looking for a new car, then it's literally now (for the few dealers that still have any left on the lot). I got my '18 350 AWD F Sport in late October and got $12,900 in discounts, but there were only 4 IS cars on the lot, so I didn't get the interior I wanted.

If you wait until October of next year it'll be the same type of thing probably. Like I said, unless you can find a dealer with an '18 on the lot that you want.

Right now the best time to buy a brand new IS.

I got my 2019 with $9,200 in discounts and rebates. A 2018 would have been $12,700 in discounts and rebates if it had the same MSRP. However, nebula grey paint, red interior, and F Sport were all 100% non-negotiable. My 2019 is exactly as I would have configured it from the online configurator (non-nav because Lexus’s infotainment is garbage, and I wanted parking sensors)

If you have non-negotiable configuration choices like I did, you’ll likely only find 2019s. If you don’t mind what you find then you can surely find a new 2018 for a ridiculously low price. Maybe even lower than a used 2017 if you lease it.

For the used buy, I would say now, after the crash, the prices in the market are going to slighly rise. For the new buy, I would wait the car-industry to crash and the new car prices to fall down the skies. But I guess Toyota/Lexus will be less concerned on this matter.
It's a very difficult time incoming whatever, difficult to make a forecast.
