How long can the car sit without being started before having a dead battery? Just got my IS350 last week and worried about the battery. Came from a 535i and after a week the battery would be dead, so I started using batter tenders. This isn't my daily driver so it sits in a garage for a bit.

Also from factory, are these AGM batteries? If I change it out, does i need to be registered like BMWs? Stupid IBS.

I hooked up a quick connector for a batt tender this weekend that I used from my 5, can this hurt the battery being an AGM tender?

Thanks

I went 2 weeks back in Sept without having the car started while I was on vacation. My battery is about 2 1/2 yrs old too. I live in AZ, and the heat during the summer can really kill batteries. Came back from my vacation, and the car started right up without any worries.

I also did two weeks while in Hong Kong. car started right back up easily. We do have tiny batteries compared to BMWs though, so don't push it.

I think Toyota uses various suppliers for its batteries. Either exide or johnson controls. shouldn't matter. they're all pretty much industry standard stuff.

Thanks for the reply. That's awesome, with the BMW, I always had to make sure it went to sleep and found it awkward that it makes engine noises while it was off.

18 days i left it without disconnecting the battery and the dashcam when i travelled this july. Came back and started right up (phew), bought it in Dec 2016 and was still on original battery.

I went 6 weeks from Aug until Oct without starting my 2011 GS350, with an original battery. It took a while for the computer system to boot up, but then engine turned right over with no problem.I didn't disconnect the battery or anything.
