No idea if this is possible, but there are a couple options I want to implement into my optionless base model IS250, more specifically heated seats/steering wheel, and memory seats. I've looked and looked and haven't seen anyone retrofit memory seats into a 2014 3IS. In regards to heated seats, do my heaterless seats have heaters in them but lack an ability to control them? Im assuming not, so ill have to either source new seats entirely or somehow retrofit heaters? lol. im doubtful on that last one but if anyone has more info than me on this subject please share your knowledge. Im also thinking that ventihilated seats might be too much of a stretch. the control panel is easily available on amazon. As for the memory seats, is it as easy as getting the control panel? What is involved in adding this option? If it is possible and well reasoned financially, then I think Ill go through the process and document it here.
I was always curious if you could swap in the seats from the RC-F, motors/memory/ecu and all and just add the memory panel to the door. I know the folding/tilting mirror is pretty much out of the question.
Following because I’d like to know what’s possible. I know people have discussed adding options like memory seats and stuff like that. I know personally I’ve wanted to add a rain sensor and rear sunshade but don’t know if it’s feasible let alone possible.
I'm doubting that anyone on here has actually done any of these swaps, generally because they end up being extremely costly and are not plug and play. Memory anything will be linked to one or several body ECU's. Not to mention having to get a new portion of the door card, wiring hardness, and hardware. The seats and steering wheel are element driven for the heating, so you would have to replace them. Rain sensing wipers, you would need the stock, the body ECU, the windshield sensor (get it calibrated), etc. I'm missing a ton of stuff here, but again it's generally not worth it to try and retrofit this kind of stuff. Exterior panels, lights, etc. are usually easier as long as you have the money to source all of the parts.
