Default Relocate trunk release button to blank panel

Has anybody done this? It looks as if that switch is the same size as the blank switches next to the BSM button. It would be a much more convenient place for the trunk release to be IMO. Any ideas if there's anything preventing me from attempting this?

Only the length of the wire harness to the button will stop you from moving as far as you want.
You'd have to see how long the wires are behind the switch. Of course if you're handy with a soldering iron, you can just extend the wires as needed.

This is actually a great idea, since I use this button a lot, because people never find the release button on the trunk lid. So I usually just open the trunk myself, instead of having them run their fingers all over the trunk, then looking down to find it, not seeing it and then aggressively looking for the button with their hands until succeeding lol.
