Default Replacing the Fuel Filter?

I did a search on this forum, but didnt see any discussion on replacing the fuel filter in our IS sedans. Has anyone attempted to do this lreventive maintenance service? Has DIY Dan tried? Im certain its a part of the fuel pump assembly.

Not part of maintenance schedule. Not needed unless you have a problem with it.

The filter is not a maintenance item to be replaced...mainly due to the location of it.
The filter is attached to the bottom if the fuel pump, in the tank.
To access it you would be going through the same procedures are the fuel pump recall...removed the rear seat lap cushion, removing the locking ring holding the fuel pump assembly, and then removing the assembly and disassembling it.
The locking ring itself is a challenge to remove even if you have the special tool...without the tool, forget it.

Would it be a good idea to have it replaced when the do the work for the recent fuel pump recall?

It definitely wouldn't hurt. I think the filter is less than $5.
If I remember correctly from looking it up online, it's part of the fuel pump lower support bracket.

I was thinking of having it done during recall, it should not cost any additional labor to do it? They literally access it during the fuel pump recall procedure?
