Default Aftermarket TPMS

i had purchased aftermarket wheels and tires and they came with these aftermarket "smart sensors". my car picked them up without issues but the console is not showing the current psi for the tires. Is this normal since they are aftermarket tpms? i've reset the tpms as well but still no psi after driving a while. My carista app picks them up and shows psi within the iphone app but i'm curious how do i get the car console to show the current psi?

Some aftermarket sensors dont send the right signal to the car to show on the dash, but the car itself still knows the pressures.

If you look at the ECU actual values, the pressures are there. But just not being sent to the cluster for some reason. I havent found a way to make it work. The light still works if it's too low

The sensors have to be programmed to the car, my aftermarket ones cloned the OEM ones and they work just fine.

Yes, you need the old sensors and a programmer... most tire shops can do it.

Just a question kind of related to this, OEM sensors don't work with aftermarket wheels?

they do, I’ve done that several times. Only reason I went aftermarket was due to the wheels and tires package I bought. Free mount balance and tpms install. All I had to do was slap them on the car. I didn’t wanna go thru of paying a tire shop to transfer tpms and install them on the new wheels and tires. That’s an extra expense!

just bring your wheels, i believe programming is just sensing the tpms and pulling codes that way.

With Lexus, the programming tells it what ids to look for. If it doesn't see it, then it ignores whatevers there. Unlike the porsche that pulls everything from the sensor whenever you reset the tire light

do they have to be removed or can they do it without removing the tires from the stock wheels?
