for used car shoppers I would be careful to include the 200t as part of the IS "Mk 3" group as it's still too new of an engine to know. it has a turbo which if it blows, seals leak, impeller bearing goes, etc, it's expensive. you also have a whole separate plumbing system to deal with. Honestly don't know how the CT is ranked lower than the IS. The CT by definition and nature (Prius powertrain) is inherently more reliable than the IS which uses a traditional engine with belts, pulleys. while i don't dispute the IS is reliable, take mags like that w/ a grain of salt =)

True. And sometimes minor interior issues or infotainment issues can count against a car's "reliability". Take for example Pandora in the Lexus App Suite. Finnicky as all get out. Or let's say - an interior piece rattling. If more people complained about those very minor issues that don't really contribute to reliability, it could still diminish car's value in the eyes of mags. Consumer Reports is notorious for letting minor infotainment glitches ruin a car's score, for instance.

Uk's 3IS are all hybrids and not the turbos, they've got only the hybrids as there are no diesel variants and most ppl do not buy solely gas-powered vehicles due to the high taxes on these kinda cars.
