BMS Stage1 piggyback not plugging into my 2018 IS300
Looking for some input here...I bought the BMS Stage1 from E46CT, hoping it was just a simple plug and play...and it should be....but....
All the plugs plug right in, except for for the male end of the "rainbow" cable on the BMS harness. It will not plug into the female factory harness.
PIC:
The bottom is the factory TMAP harness / plug. The top is the male plug from the BMS harness.
The plastic guides on the BMS harness keeps the two plugs from plugging into each other.
I know that several forum members have 2018 IS300s. Did you guys run into the same issue?
And if so, how is it overcome?
It would also be super helpful if someone can take a picture of that same plug from 2018 cars where a piggyback module has been successfully installed.
I verified that my TMAP is the same as the 2016-2017 models. PN 89421-78010.
So it kind of appears that they changed / updated the harness / plug but not the sensor.
As a side note, the other MAP that I didn't have a harness / plug issue with, is also the same as the 2016-2017 models. PN 89421-78020.
Use a bird beak/ long nose pliers and remove the white section of the top plug (BMS connector). The previous owner should be missing theirs which got stuck in there.
Managed to grab it just now. This is actually mine from my female connector. First time I connected it wouldn't snap in. It would plug and slide in but didn't snap into the tab. When I unplugged it this piece fell out but when I plugged it back in, now without this piece, it still wouldn't snap in. Should it lock into the tab?
Weird I didn’t have any issues. Did BMS change the connector at some point? I know my tuner had the protective case already vs others who bought it earlier and it didn’t come with a protective case. Pretty interesting.
EDIT: I just realized what is going on haha. I can’t believe E46CT’s little plastic piece was stuck in that connector lol. Well glad Sheddy cleared this all up!

It should be able to snap in, but it's also fine if you take it off. I would much rather it lock into position.
