MAF Cleaned
Hey ya'll
I just wanted to give a quick write up on something I did to my car recently. So I switched from the K&N Typhoon CAI to the Lexus F Sport performance intake, also I drive a 14 IS250 base. So I did this swap about 2 weeks ago and I was happy with the CAI but I just felt like swapping it out for something different. While doing this swap, I decided to clean the MAF using the CRC MAF cleaner. The install was easy and the cleaning was easy after watching an instructional video. After the upgrade, I drove 6 hours on the highway back to my home. While driving I was noticing some significant MPG improvements, I actually averaged 36.5 while driving 79 the whole way and even driving a little aggressive at times when I needed to lol. I know the big jump in MPG is probably because I disconnected the negative terminal during the install. It has now been 2 weeks since the cleaning and I have resumed my usually city driving. I am still averaging 30 MPG, this is a major change from the 24.5 I was getting before.
So I am currently ecstatic, that all being said I had one concern I wanted to ask ya'll. So conveniently after cleaning I fully read the instructions on the can, it says at the very end of the instructions that this product is not suitable for most lexus vehicles. Would anyone know why this is? I have driven the car now for 2 weeks and I haven't noticed any difference other than better mpg and a smoother and lower rpm idle. Thanks for your help!

Can you send a pic of the can where is says that? I find it crazy the can is that specific. Because there are a few different styles of MAFs out there, Lexus is not the only one using that style...so how can they rule out one brand.
And what about Toyota and Scion?!

Thank you for the response! I have attached the two pictures
Thanks for the pics. The good news is that Toyota/Lexus hasn't used a Karman Vortex MAF sensor since the early 90's. That's why the can says Toyota Supra Turbos.
The first GS's used that sensor, but i think that's it.
You'll be fine with using it on the 3IS.

Perfect! Thanks so much for your help! I have been listened to my engine so much recently just to be sure lol.
