Default Cleaning trim around front grill

What's the best way to clean the trim around the front grill as well as the front lip for a '18 IS350 F-Sport. I think it's a darker chrome or plastic? Seems like when I try clean it with regular distilled water, it just smears the water along.

Whether I use wax or a mild auto cleaner or even distilled water, it seems to smear wherever I apply and wipe off. It's driving me nuts; everything else is shiny and clean, but the black chrome shows some smears despite trying to clean it. What have you used to clean around the grille that doesn't smear?

i have the same problem as you, around the grille on the top and sides shines normally but the bottom part always is covered in water spots and smear marks, i have not done anything to get it clean it’s impossible

clay bar, soap and water with microfiber, then gently dry with fresh microfiber, pretty easy. No need to go all overboard.

Mothers Chrome-all. Kinda cheap stuff but happy with the results. Makes chrome look like a mirror.

Dont use it much on the IS as I kind of despise my chrome grille and looking to get it wrapped soon.
