So I did some searching on the forums today and google, but didn't find anything. I know a lot of people don't like the analog clock and the fact that there is no digital clock anywhere else in the car on the 14-16 models. Has anyone considered making a digital clock for this? Just some ideas popped into my head, such as using a smart watch and using digital face. The Huawei Stainless Steel watch looks like it would be a good choice (mostly because it's the biggest round one I can find). I have a machinist at my disposal at work to make a fixture/insert that would hold the watch face in the analog clock circle. I would also have to tap into the existing wiring and get it to power the small USB charger for the watch. First things first, how difficult is it to remove that whole trim piece over the clock and vents? Does it pop out or do I have to remove other panels to get to screws? This could end up looking really cool if I made a nice, flush insert, with a watch face that has the F logo and a digital clock in a good font. Just brainstorming here. Summer temperatures could kill this whole idea to be honest lol

 

From what I've heard, you have to remove the radio and HVAC controller to get at the vents. I thought about adding a qi charger to the flat area in front of the nav screen but decided it was too much work lol

 

I would love a digital clock mod to fit into that circle. If you do end up making something for this, please sell it.

 

any update on this? i was considering retrofitting a gauge in this spot maybe boost for when the supercharger goes in

 

Years ago, I put my Moto 360 smart watch up next to the analog clock and it was essentially the same size.
Pondered about retrofitting it but never did anything about it.
