Haha it's not a Canadian thing, it's specific to all the 2017+ 350 F Sports (I believe).

Wow, really? Darn. I know the "Customize" thing was available pre-refresh in other countries.

I did find a discussion here on CL for the GS F Sport, and the OP was from Texas. So I hope the IS has it, too.

It's definitely a nice feature, since I like having the suspension and steering set to "Sport" all of the time, but not necessary the throttle/high revs (I just move it to Sport+ when I feel like going all out).

Looking back, I'd say I'd have pushed it to redline a couple times a week. I got pretty comfortable with some of the back roads near where I work. Never really pushed it hard enough to have tires squeal, except a couple times which were definitely on purpose. But ordinarily I didn't go past 7/10ths or so and tried not to actually go foot to the floor.

Same deal in the GTI now - when I do drive spiritedly I try to just cruise around for 3-4 minutes to let things cool down because turbo. That should probably apply to 200t/300 RWD owners too.

I have brake launched it maybe 3-4x in the 1.5 years I’ve had it.
I do go full throttle and redline it quite frequently.
It understeers at the limit so I don’t push it that hard around corners but I do take freeway on/off quickly sometimes.
Never really get hard on the brakes.

overall a super fun car.

I give it the beans regularly, especially on weekend drives.
