Hard/Rough Shifting Problems
Hey guys,
Anybody else have an issue with hard shifting from Reverse into Drive?
I make a complete stop for a few seconds then I shift to drive. I'm not shifting into drive while my car is still moving backwards like some people have a custom of doing.
I've tried waiting longer before I shift into drive and it still does it.
Also happens in the slightest incline (like my driveway) when turning my car on and putting it in reverse. Feels like the engine just drops. It's a really nasty feeling.
I have a 2017 200t F-Sport

When parking on an incline / decline you should engage the parking brake BEFORE letting go of your foot brake. This way when you let go of the foot brake the cars weight cannot shift onto the transmission. Doing so should stop that clunkiness.
can you post a video? nothing should feel nasty about this. could have a defective mount of sorts.
mines supremely smooth from D to R and R to D, with the brake fully depressed until the shift is fully complete. Unless i go to D or R without holding the brake and waiting. then i get that slight judder (which is normal) as metal things have to do things metal things do.

I turn my car on, hold the foot brake, go to R and *clunk* while foot is still on brake then pull out my driveway, make a complete stop, shift to D with foot brake completely down, wait for gear to engage *clunk* then take foot off brake and take off. Happens like 75% of the time. I'm trying to see what I do differently when it shifts smooth.
Yes, I reverse and make a complete stop and hold the brake down completely, shift into D and wait for the gear to fully change then I take my foot off the brake.
What do you mean? You're going to have to explain that to me lol. What parking brake?
I'll try and post a video later tonight or tomorrow. Driving the commuter to work today. Might be hard to catch on camera. I'm thinking I might have a bad mount then. There's of course going to be some slight judder when shifting but mine is quite intense.
