IS300h what tires '19 wheels 8.5 x 19 ET40
Hello everyone,
I am a lucky owner of the IS300h, I have now purchased 4 pieces of TOMASON wheels of size (8.5 x 19 ET40). I have a question about tires, will tires size 235 / 35R19 fit on the front and back? Thank you for the hint.

Congrats and Welcome! That is some sexy black wheels
235/35/19 will be fine for front and back.

I think a few items to identify with the content.
They tested wheels on a Golf starting from the stock 15" and going up to a aftermarket 19"...that's 4'" larger...I don't think anyone is doing that here.
From the stock F Sport rims (18"), most are going to 19's...and some crazy people to 20's.
Even those that started life with the factory 17" wheels would only be going up 2 (common) or 3 inches (max).
Also they are using a cast aluminum rim...I think if you poled everyone here, those using a cast aluminum rim is going to be super small.
While in theory a larger wheel would add more weight, you have to consider wheel construction...i would put a 19" rotary forged wheel up against a 18" factory F Sport rim any day for weight, expecting the 19" to come out on top.
For the article they used an aftermarket wheel of similar construction as the factory wheel, which is fine...but they shouldn't assume that everyone will get a wheel that is not of better quality.
Going larger can improve handling, but you have to assume when one area gets better, another area gets worse i.e. fuel economy.
And as the article suggested, going too large will just make everything suffer.

Nice wheels and setup, my friend.
I've been looking at moving away from stock for such a long time. 33K miles on stock rims/tires lol.
Let us know how this setup treats you. I am hoping to find time to make my purchase soon
