Default Side mirror tilting down during reverse

Is there any ways to make passenger side tilt down? My other cars always tilt down the windows I select but 3IS doesn't seem to do it. Or am I mistaken?

That feature, I believe, is only available on the Luxury Package from 2014 - 2017 and the Comfort Package from 2018.

I do have comfort package on my 2018. I guess I need to read the manual unless someone explains to me here.

Then I believe you should have it. You need to make sure you have either the L or R selector picked for the mirror adjustment to activate the feature. Just leave one selected all of the time.

I did have it on R but left side was tilting. I will check again later today but I went back and forth L vs R and put into P/R/D gears and it always tilted driver's side.

Both should tilt, whether you use the L or the R switch.

Both should not tilt at the same time. No automakers make both side mirrors tilt at the same time.

Page 152 of the 2018 manual:

When either “L” or “R” of the mirror select switch is selected, the outside rear view mirrors will automatically angle downwards when the vehicle is reversing in order to give a better view of the ground.

To disable this function, select neither “L” nor “R”.

■ Adjusting the mirror angle when the vehicle is reversing With the shift lever in R, adjust the mirror angle at a desired position. The adjusted angle will be memorized and the mirror will automatically tilt to the memorized angle whenever the shift lever is shifted to R from next time. The memorized downward tilt position of the mirror is linked to the normal position (angle adjusted with the shift lever in other than R). Therefore, if the normal position is changed after adjustment, the tilt position will also change. When the normal position is changed, readjust the angle in reversing.

It sounds to me like the Right mirror just needs to be angled properly. Go through the procedure from the manual that I posted above (Go in R, tilt mirror down, position will be saved). You should then see both mirrors tilt when in reverse with either mirror selector pushed.

This makes perfect sense now. Thanks a lot and I will give it a try when I get off work.

Yea. My 2002 BMW 3 series did this. can't believe my 2016 Lexus doesn't... lol. i wonder what parts would be required to retrofit this.

Mine too lol, my E46 sport package equipped sedan from 2003 even had memory seats which my 3IS does not have. Yet Lexus always touting their technology...lol.

Still can't fathom why Lexus cars like the RC and IS don't have power folding mirrors in this day and age. Maybe 4IS they will finally debut and then claim how innovative they are. They give it to the RX and not us, makes no sense. Lexus can really suck sometimes with their lackluster feature content.

my step moms RC when she had it only had the one side tilt down when it was selected, which is stupid we’re paying $50k for a luxury car and we can’t have tilt down mirrors

Seems there's a lot of ex e36 owners here haha. Mine did that too, but the switch was a bit wonky so it didn't do it all the time.

It isn't that they never put it in the fsport 3is, it's just that they decided that the north American market doesn't get it. From what I understand, it'll only come with ones equipped with seat memory.

If I remember correctly, with the mirror tilt, I think you can adjust how much it dips. There were 2 settings in techstream, default or driver settings or something like that. My sister's rx we had it set to not move at all. So maybe try adjusting it with reverse on, and see if it goes back on its own when you go back to park or drive.
