Anyone color match rear lower bumper molding?
Just curious to see if anyone has even color matched the lower black rubber molding on their IS? When I had a VW back in the day a lot of guys were doing this. I have an eye for detail and im thinking this will really look much better. Id like to see if anyone had done this before.
painting it body color wouldn't look that good because it would give the rear end too much visual mass. Having it black also gives the sporty appearance of a diffuser.
an eye for detail is precisely why the designers did what they did. you'll also notice (with your eye for detail) that the body line that swoops up towards the tail light follows the line of the diffuser creating symmetry and flow.
keep it the way it is. if you want a nicer diffuser, you can grab the one from the 2017 model. it's styled better.
