Did the same spring go back on the same corner of the vehicle? If so, the dots should be in the exact same spot.
If the springs got swapped left to right, then it is what it is.

the springs would be opposites then and the blue and red would be 180 degrees. they aren't 180 degrees

Then the spring isn't sitting in the exact same spot as it rolled off the assembly line.
The front is impossible to screw up...well, I shouldn't say impossible, I guess anything is possible.
But the rear I'm pretty sure you can install in various rotations...not to say it's wrong...just depends if there is a specific alignment criteria.
I have a printout of the spring orientations somewhere...hell if I can find it though.

If you could find it that would be awesome, I am wondering now whether it really matters and if going back is what I should do....

According to the printout, the marks on the spring should be anywhere in the arc indicated by the "b"...just like your photo which was at the rearward most setting of that arc (i put a red arrow there ).
Based on your yellow marks, it's outside that arc.

The marks are put on the spring before they are installed, so the fact they swapped sides is not the end of the world. That could have happened at the factory when the vehicle was being built, as the marks relate to the spring, not the vehicle.
More so that the marks are in the indicated spot as per the manual is what counts.
Now, since they are not, what will happen...I have no idea. I don't think it's a big deal for the rears, but hard to say exactly.

The front is near impossible to screw up. The strut lower spring perch has a step in it, once the spring is butted up against the step, then it's exactly where is needs to be.

It can, but it doesn't matter for the front.
