Default Pedal Commander

https://www.pedalcommander.com/produ...V6%20(IS%20350)

Has any one ever heard of this? A buddy of mine has it on his Mercedes and swears that it improves the throttle responses and horse power. Im wondering if any one has experience with this on our car?

It is what it is, LOL improves the throttle response Yes, horse power NO,
It pretty much give you the feel of more throttle than what you have push on the gas pedal. Example you push gas pedal 25%, it will feel like 50% and so on. It gives you the feel of power, save your money and use your leg muscle.

Yep it’s snake oil. It only ramps the input up a bit but will not get rid of the delay on 200t’s.

its clear you haven’t installed one. The reason this forum is extremely helpful is due to our members sharing experiences they’ve actually had

you don't need to install one to know what it won't and can't do. 200t--it will not in any way remove the initial delay. it can't. it won't.

you want better throttle response in general, put it in sport mode. that's what it's for. if you want even better response, buy a miata.

I think people (including myself in the past) just look for excuses to spend money so they try to justify product xyz and its claims, no matter how outrageous.

at best these products give you the perception of better response but that's all it is. perception. they mostly just take your money and give you an on/off switch for a pedal. the last thing you want mid-corner is an on/off throttle, if actual performance is remotely a concern.

I’ve seen multiple people claiming pedal commander fried their throttle circuitry. Wouldn’t risk it for what can be accomplished with your right foot anyways.

You'd be MUCH better off spending a little bit more for a RR Racing OBD ECU tune, that is something you would actually get real results from.

My pleasure, thanks for asking. It completely eliminates throttle lag be electronically connecting the accelerator peddle to the throttle replacing a mechanical linkage. You are correct regarding no increase to HP however the acceleration off the line is dramatically improved along with acceleration when the car is traveling at speeds of 30 40 mph. The biggest issue is screeching the tires from a dead stop.

it turns out there have been numerous threads on this forum that have answered a lot of questions. This thing works

OK. Well it sounds like you're not getting an on-off switch for the throttle, which is a good thing.

FWIW, I've been on this forum for 3 years and have never seen Pedal Commander before - had to do a search to find it.

It sounds a lot like the Apexi throttle controller - removes the lag and provides some options for mapping the throttle input. At the end of the day, it's really there just to enhance driveablility and not to actually improve performance numbers. But yeah I support this type of product - even on the IS 300 AWD (which isn't turbocharged) I have in my garage, I still notice the throttle lag from time to time, especially if I have driven a different car recently.
