Highest Mileage IS
100100mi
purchased a CPO 2014 RWD IS350 with 19k 2 years ago. I drive a lot for work and wanted a reliable motor and bounced between the 200t and 350 motor.
the IS350 motor is very reliable. its been a carryover motor from the gs350 series from 2006, with minor updates to make it more efficient. It has both port and direct injection, so carbon deposits shouldn't be an issue with an occasional italian tune up. I've come from a tuned VW scene, and this lexus motor is beautiful. Sonorous, torquey, and smooth. I've had 2 injectors replaced so far, a gateway controller, ML headhunt replaced 2 times, sunroof accordion seal thing once, a low pressure fuel pump replaced. Not too bad, considering the mileage i put on the car. I have a slightly leaky coolant overflow tank, but Lexus says its a design issue that just happens. I looked under the hooks of 2 employees lexus is' and same thing. So it was noted and never has given me issues other than being cosmetic. Car doesn't drink a drop of oil or make it dark which blows my mind. My last car golf R drank a quart of oil every 2000 mi, and its oil would go black within 3000mi. Whether color means anything, I dont know. Lately I've been having intermittent long cranks, which the dealer has replaced the fuel rail, 2 injectors, a fuel pump, and still the problem comes and goes but never has left me stranded...i'm thinking i'm losing fuel pressure somewhere but i'm over it as its never left me stranded.
The 8 speed gearbox in the RWD is350 is the same unit found in the 2IS ISF. It can handle a lot of power, and should prove to be a reliable unit.
I plan to put on another 40k miles this year, and supercharge it with RR's kit soon after i do a blackstone analysis of my oil.
The 350 with f sport exhaust sounds really really good.
