Newbie IS250C owner here! Looking for some guidance on what is surely an operator error issue re: keyless entry. When I approach the car with my fob in my pocket, my drivers door will unlock when I push the handle button, but it also beeps at me (a long beep, like a warning alarm) when I open the door. I also need to hit the unlock switch on the drivers door to unlock the passenger side. It seems clunky, and generally un-Lexus-like, which is why I'm sure I have something programmed wrong. Any words of wisdom?
ETA: I should mention that if I take the fob out and use the buttons, everything works fine. One click of unlock opens drivers door only, two opens both. But I'd like to have it work just as smoothly when I don't click the buttons on the fob.
The button you are pressing is the lock button on the handle. The long beep you described normally means there is a key in the car that you are trying to lock in. Unlock the car and leave your key outside of the car and try to start it. If the car starts you need to find the key that is left in the car.
Now on to your inquiry about only the drivers door unlocking. This is the default entry setting (it's for safety). You may be able to change that through your dash multi-information display or your navigation system depending on your year. If those options aren't available you can have the dealer change the setting with the Tech-stream.
BTW your car is technically a 2nd Gen IS, but we will gladly help you here.
Interesting! It came with two fobs (or so we thought), so maybe I'll be going on a treasure hunt later if both of them are out of the car and it still starts.
To be clear, the long beep is when I OPEN the door after unlocking, not lock the door after closing.

Out of curiosity, what kicks it back to a 2Gen? It's a 2014 (I just realized I didn't specify in my original post), is there something besides model year that determines gen?

All IS convertibles are 2nd Gen. 3RD Gen got revised rear suspension and of course have the vastly different body styling.
2nd Gen
As might be expected, I found that it is not a good idea to self wash my 2017 IS with my key in my pocket.
Each time water rolls over the door handle it will lock and unlock repeatedly.

There's a setting in the infotainment system where you can set to unlock just driver's door or all 4 doors. You can check to see if it's available in your IS250. Let me know if you have issues finding the setting in your infortainment system. I can go to mine and take a picture of the setting for you.
