Service Interval -- RR Racing Tune
Question for those who have the tune. I have 4 service intervals that came with my Lexus and need to schedule one of them. It's a regular oil change from 40K to 55K. At the 45K mark, it's a more in-depth service (see below). Should I install the stock setting prior to taking it into Lexus for any of these services? Or would I be good with just leaving it as is?
- Check Installation Of Driver's Floor Mat
- Reset Oil Maintenance Reminder, if Oil was Changed
- Perform Road-Test on Vehicle
- Rotate Tires
- Inspect Axle Shaft Boots
- Inspect Body
- Inspect Visually, Brake Linings/Drums And Brake Pads/Discs
- Inspect Wiper Blades
- Inspect /Adjust All Fluid Levels
- Inspect Ball Joints And Dust Covers
- Inspect Brake Lines And Hoses
- Inspect Rear Differential Oil
- Inspect Engine Coolant
- Inspect Steering Linkage And Boots
- Inspect Exhaust Pipes And Mountings
- Inspect Steering Gear Box/Rack And Pinion
- Replace Smart Key Battery
a tech noticed that i had done the complete f-sport conversion in and out and decided that he cared enough to tell it all to my service advisor who also cared so much as to place the information in the lexus online personal vehicle profile logs. i'm hoping the next dealership i go to won't notice.
This kind of stuff confuses me. Being a Service Manager I can tell you aren't paid to NOT work, theres no reason to not cover certain things under warranty. Our dealer doesn't give a flying flock if you have every add-on known to man. The only time we care if it impedes our ability to make time on the job. Then we may bill you the difference in time. Otherwise who the hell cares, if it's warranty work. It's warranty work. Just get the work in the door.

I guess what I am worried about is a tech plugging into the OBD2 port, see's that it is tuned and resets it back to the stock setting without consulting me. I went in with this knowing full and well that my engine and transmission warranty are gone now, and that's the risk I took. Not the first time I drove a car without warranty.
The tune isn't going to effect them performing service. I think your worrying for no good reason. Just drop the thing off. It's your car.
