Default Rear diffuser

Hey ya'll I am working on a project and need some input. I just spoke with a body shop about painting and installing a rear diffuser. Does the stock diffuser have to be removed for an aftermarket diffuser like the one in the picture? Is this an install that could do myself? I am wanting them to paint the diffuser gloss black like my car for the black on black look. I'll post pictures when I get it done. Thanks for your help!

Hey! I'm no expert but I'm sure this is something that you can easily install and paint yourself. I almost but this diffuser myself but I wasn't happy with the fitting. You definitely need to force it on the car and give it some shape. You probably need 3m tape and screws to install it. You can also probably sand it and paint it yourself but it's up to you depending on your skill level. I recently installed a lip and it was a pain in the ***. Now I'm getting my car wrapped and it's take an eternity!!

Thanks for the input. Do you know if the stock bumper will need to be taken off for installation?

Sorry I missed that question the first time around. From what I know you do not remove the original diffuser. The aftermarket diffuser is installed over the stock one.
