Default Exhaust Suggestions...

Hi Folks,

Not new to the car game but in the 3IS platform pretty much learning the nooks of it... just to give brief history of my car game:

1997 Civic SIR
2001 Lexus MSM IS300: boosted...used to be an active member of my.IS
2009 Audi S4: Reiger Kit Primarily for show
2010 Ford Sport track Adrenaline: Used for a business I owned
2011 Mini Cooper S JCW with GP trim conversion
and now
2014 USB IS250 F-Sport

So now to the question, before I boosted my IS300 I had an Apexi WS2 Exhaust system which was silent at low RPM and really opened up at full throttle...I am looking for the same thing for my 3IS, I dont really want a loud car anymore since I have a little girl now who likes to sleep on longer drives but I dnt like the stock mufflers as I feel it doesnt have enough rumble atleast when you punch the car a bit...I am open to suggestions from the community...

if there has been a question similar to this please point me to the right direction and close this thread...I tried my google search and nothing concrete really came out of it in terms of noise level...thanks in advance for all the help

I would go with a quieter exhaust since it's gonna be a "family car".

F sport, tanabe , Invidia are a few.

Agree ...lots of information there on exhausts but not necessarily towards the direction I am leaning towards, I have scanned through them before posting this thread and noise level seem to be the least compared aspect that's why I started the thread, thanks for pointing towards that direction though it is still appreciated.

I am in the same boat, looking for a similar setup.... I had to WS2 on a boosted car and it was great! Quiet at idle and low RPM, but came alive at high rpm's

I think what you need is a Cold Air Intake, I have one and only had one for a few months before adding an axelback. Now I have both together and love them. The CAI is not noticeable at highway speeds or even slightly aggressive acceleration. You only notice the added sound at around 4000 and that will gradually build up. I feel that the axelback in your case will add too much cabin noise for someone to sleep comfortably. In my case, I don't mind the extra noise in the cabin because I'm 25 and kidless lol.

Fsport or Tanabe axle back only then if you want quiet.

I had a WS2 on my older IS300 and it is comparable in sound with my Fsport (actually a bit quieter with Fsport on my is350)

Hopefully these provide some gains with the RR Racing tune... that would be great. Some sound, but also HP gains

This s exactly the comparison I am looking for...I loved the WS2 on my IS300 then I had to sell it since I had to get 3" pipings for the turbo install and custom pipes which droned and was really loud...loved it during that time but times have changed and I just want to look like the cool dad picking up the princess in day care that's all hahahaha, thanks for the input

No problem.
I think you will be happy with Fsport, its pretty quiet. Almost too quiet for me in suburban areas. In the City its just enough sound (buildings for the exhaust note to bounce off to be heard)
I personally am trying to get just a tad more sound and may do a Midpipe to hopefully achieve and not go overboard.
