Thank you for writing. Although Gracenote has been delivering solutions in the automotive market since 2001, each car company has a slightly different strategy for helping their customers and distributing database updates to their customers. The place to ask about service, technical manuals and the latest updates is at your local dealership.

The way this works is that the automaker has their own development department that built a product that's licensed to use our recognition technology. They have signed a contract with Gracenote so that we can provide them recognition technology and updates.

We are a business-to-business technology company. We then provide the car company updates at regular intervals according to their contract, and they distribute updates to their consumers (that would be you). Because I'm not familiar with the product in your vehicle, and don’t have any technical manuals, I'm at a disadvantage here.

If your own dealer is not helpful, the headquarters should be able to easily answer your questions. They would best know how the car manufacturer is providing information and updates for you - their customer.

In my original email i told them I had a Canadian vehicle and that I checked with both the dealer and manufacturer HQ directly, and neither could provide an answer.
So of course he provided links to two US websites and told me to check with the dealer and manufacturer HQ.

That's my bad, I should have clarified the email a little. The links he sent are of no value, they don't contain any info on updating the Gracenote database.
The first link gives you operating system updates and the second link is a Q & A that tells you to contact the manufacturer.
We are back at square one.

I checked and there do seem to be updates for the 2015 IS with nav and perhaps later models (with or without nav...) as well.

 

At driver.lexus.com you can get multimedia system updates which also include grace notes updates. I've done this twice on my '15 IS.

 

Would the upgrade work on UK models as well.? as I have a 2014 model.

 

That site directs you to another site for the updates for the multimedia system.
It doesn't mention that it updates Gracenotes, but it also doesn't say it doesn't, so I'm not sure if it does or not.
The only was would be to check the Gracenote version before and after an update.
Also the site with the updates doesn't have the most current one...at least not for 2014 IS.

 

Thanks for the links...unfortunately for Canadian vehicles, which do not get Entune, there was no solution at any of the links.
