Smile Is350 looking to join the club.

Hey guys I am looking to join the Lexus family. Been searching around a couple of months now. I think its better to have first hand knowledge from you guys IS owners. If so could you guys help me out and answer the questions i have below to your best knowledge. Thanks. I am looking into a 2014-2015 Is350 F sports AWD certified pre-owned. I want to fully loaded it out like my previous cars. LOL

1, What type of packages does the 2014-2015 is350 awd f sport offer? And also what other options are there? cause some cars i had before offer standalone options.

2, Are there any issues with the 2014-2015 years? such as recalls/TSB? I know there is a issue with the navi screen.

3, Any difference between the 2014-2015?

If i have any other question i will update the post. Thanks again.

Welcome airheads!
The US members will be better able to answer question #1, but here's some info to get you started.

1. There are no stand along options (unless you count a spoiler, or things like that, as standalone)...tech items are packaged and can only be had in the package
2. Nothing major for TSB and Recalls...nav screen, parking brake cable noise, battery drain on 2014, tranny mount (or some mount), and a recall for possible corrosion on the rear wheel arches
3. There's no difference between a 2014-2015...but I would shoot for a 2015

1. The F Sport comes with it's own package - F SPORT front fascia, grille and front-fender badges // F SPORT 18-inch split-five-spoke alloy wheels // F SPORT suspension tuning // Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) with SPORT S+ drive mode (IS 350) // Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM)22 with Sport mode // LED headlamps // LFA-inspired instrumentation // NuLuxe interior trim // Heated front seats // Silver Performance interior trim // Perforated leather-trimmed shift **** and steering wheel with F SPORT logo // Aluminum pedals // Stainless-steel scuff plates // Black headliner // Side padding on center console

2014 http://www.lexus.com/documents/broch...S-Brochure.pdf
2015 http://www.lexus.com/documents/broch...S-Brochure.pdf

F Sport cars do not get memory seats, leather (only Nuluxe), auto tilt steering wheel/VGRS (it's packaged together on RWD 350's only) - I'm sure I'm missing a few

Individual options - Mark Levinson & Navigation

2. pretty much covered by Sasnuke

3. 2015's got ventilated seats, the interior trim was changed to a more scratch resistant material and they added an F Sport badge on the trunk

thanks for replying back. Are there any fixes for the parking cable noise, battery drain and mount?
As for the rear wheel corrosion, i know that was on the 2014, would that be all 2014 or just selected 2014?
Is there any reason you would shoot for the 2015 vs 2014 beside one year newer? LOL

Thanks for replying back. I notice there are individual options for "Pre-Collision System with Dynamic Radar Cruise control", "BSM with Rear Cross-traffic alert"
and "power rear sunshade", "Intuitive Parking Assist" and Backup camera but i thought that was standard?

I forgot about BSM w/cross traffic and I have it. I don't think the others are available on F Sport vehicles. I have been surprised to see that there are IS's without rear view camera (I, too, thought that was standard). Hopefully, others will chime in if I'm wrong. Those things are standard for all 2017 models I think.

According to my IS brochure (2016), F-Sport comes with backup camera but no Parking Assist or BSM. To get BSM or PA you need the luxury package but luxury package is not available on F-Sport (again, 2016 specs). I was buying the 2016 car hence researched the options well at the time.

I have the F-sport package with BSM. Its a separate option on the F-sport package.

The TSBs covers fixes for all those items.
So far I haven't seen the wheel corrosion recall here in Canada...not sure why.
Likely there is a VIN range that was affected...without seeing the recall documentation it's difficult to say if it's all 2014...but I'd like to think not.
I would shoot for the 2015 some of the TSBs are already done in production and you can save some mileage as well.
Option packages here are limited unlike the US where there is more variety.

To be clear, we are talking about the wheel arch... I got a bit of a scare just now reading about my wheel possibly corroding! (I live in the Midwest where we get snow and other weather issues)
