Hi,

I recently bought a IS300h and the reverse camera use to beep but now all of a sudden it's stopped beeping.

I can't see any on/off buttons or settings to mute the beeping.

Has anyone got any ideas on what could have stopped it from beeping and what I can do to get it working again like before?

We don't have the 300h here, but I would assume the camera is the same.

Under what conditions did your camera previously beep? What was it alerting you of?

If your car has BSM/RCTA you will get an audible alarm and BSM lights flashing while reversing and detecting cross traffic. If your car has park assist, the sonar sensors could beep to alert you of an obstacle near your bumper, but other than that, I don't know why you'd have it beeping.

So I guess my answer is that you should ensure that, if equipped, both your park assist sensors and BSM are turned on.

 

I don't have a 300h either, but the backup camera doesn't beep.
If something was beeping it wasn't the backup camera.
I would check the cross traffic system and make sure everything is turned on and working...that and park assist are the only things that would beep.
Any considering that it sounds like you are backing up at the time you noticed the beeping stopped, it's probably the cross traffic alert.

 

Hey Sam83, it was probably your reverse parking sensors. As per Sansnuke the camera doesn't beep. Did you have it in reverse and it was close to an object that may have triggered the parking sensors?
