Exclamation Wheel setup

Hello there,

I just bought a 3rd gen IS F sport and decided to go for 19" Niche Targa wheels. My setup is:
19"x8.5 et35 in front (225/35/19) Michelin, super sport.
19"x9.5 et35 in back (255/30/19) Michelin, super sport.

No issues with front setup. I get little rubbing in the back with good bumps. Dealer talks about fender roller but there is no Inside lip to be rolled ! Fenders are just straight from top to bottom.
It's annoying and want to get rid of that.

What are my options without changing car specs?

Any thoughts?

Thanks !

I don't have personal experience with this, but I've read on the forum that others have had to get the rear fenders "stretched" in order to correct rubbing.
You may want to check with a body shop.

I'm no expert when it comes to wheels. But is your car lowered?

255 rear doesn't seen as big, my cousins 2011 IS250 has 19s with 275 rear, and he doesn't rub. But, he has on stock suspension.

Thanks for your answer !

No, my car is not not lowered and i'm still on stock suspension too. 255 is the same as stock tire witch is 255/35/18.

With all the setup I have seen on this forum, I have absolutely no clue why I get some rubbing on this setup !

I would suspect the +35 offset of the rear rims is the issue. Typically folks get +38 or higher.
Although I'm surprised you are rubbing with stock suspension.

That's what I notice de most from other picture and setup. The majority were using +38 and +40. That would make sense.....and this only for 3mm.

Thank you.

Thank you.
Tire sidewall shape and sectional width play a big factor and these depend on the specific tire brand/model. On a +38 rear, mine rubs a little on big dips/bumps with 265/30/19 tires that have a squared sidewall and section width of 10.6". If I had rounder sidewalls or narrower width, no rubbing.

For you, I doubt your 255 tires are wider than 10.2" which means they would not be the contributor to the rubbing. I would therefore look at the alignment. My rear had positive toe and rubbed more before the alignment to 0. Get this checked out. Good luck.

I slammed my IS, running 18x10 +25 all around. 235/40/18. Fenders rolled and pulled

Maybe you could run spacers in the back?

I've read that +40 offset is kinda the sweet spot for the rear.
