Lexus IS Roof Antenna Removal.
Hey guys, I'm looking to wrap the roof of my car black or satin black andI was wondering if anyone knows how to remove the antenna so that the wrap will be easier to install. Also if anyone has any tips on what's the best technique to wrap the roof that would be greatly appreciated
Thank you.
Thank you.

Hey Snabble...I actually started a thread with the almost the same question a few weeks back. I'm looking to wrap the roof as well (gloss black) and was trying to figure out how to get the antenna out without taking the headliner out.
I removed the rear map light and was able to disconnect the antenna through the opening.
It appears that with a 10mm offset wrench, that is long enough, you should be able to remove the bolt that holds the antenna on.
It looks like a 10mm bolt through the opening at least...worst case it's a 12mm bolt, but not bigger.
There isn't a lot of room to work with, and I think the two challenges will be not to drop the bolt into the headliner, and when it's time to reassemble everything, it may be a little challenging.
Weather here isn't quite good enough yet to start any DIY vinyl wrapping yet...but soon.
I have no plans to take the headliner out at all, so the antenna will have to be removed and reinstalled through the map light opening.
I was thinking to create a DIY for the antenna removal...I'm fairly certain it can be done as another member (I believe Ciggy) had the roof wrapped with the antenna removed, but the headliner wasn't.

As for putting it back...I have a small child with tiny hands that can follow instructions...nothing like free labor, hahaha!!!
Your instructions will be plan B.
