D4S bulbs are hi/lo beam-in-1?
Hi,
planning to replace the OEM bulbs to 6000k ones. i think our IS (mine is 16 350 non f so i am using HID, not LED) only uses 1 bulb for both hi and lo beam? i tried turning on hi beam, i don't see a separate light turning it, it looked to me it is just the same bulb.
so when i get a replacement 6000k bulb, do i need to look for one that specifically says both hi/lo beam? or are they (D4S) all standard and all are hi/lo beam together? hope my question makes sense.

Hey there, the projectors are actually the ones that controls the hi-lo beam pattern. It has a cutoff plane that is controlled by a solenoid that flips down when you use the hi beams to allow more light, and stays up when its on low beams to block off the upper half of the light beam for a more controlled and focused light beam. You can see it here in the third picture how the cutoff plane looks like:

To answer your question, the bulb is only one kind for both lo-hi beam. Hope I was able to answer your question.
