Default Clear bra for rock chips

I recently had my front bumper repainted, and not even 2 months in it's trashed by rock chips! I'm highly considering getting a clear bra, my question is do or should I repaint it before having the bra installed? Or does it not really matter?

also anyone with one on? Experiences with it?

You should have done it as soon as you got the car, since the clear bra some times removes the paint during removal (for a painted car) especially if the car was painted in cheap place. Anyway if the front pumper is good and you trust the painter then you can install a clear bra, on the other hand if you need repainting first make sure to chose a good place for painting before installing a clear bra, and try to tell him to write that he guarantees the paint will not be removed with the clear bra removal.

I installed mine on a painted pumper (switched my car to F-Sport), but the painting was done in the dealer.

yes. repaint! clear bras are fantastic. my vette's paint underneath after 10 years was perfect. had the bra replaced once as it was starting to look pretty beat up. this vette was my daily driver.

Just make sure you give sufficient time for the paint to air out before doing the paint protection film. Other than that I have no idea why anyone would not be driving their car straight from the dealer on purchase day to the install shop for this stuff?

I bought my car on a Friday and couldn't get the clear bra installed until the following Monday. I stared at my brand new car in the garage for 3 days because I refused to drive it until it was protected.
Perhaps overly paranoid, but I didn't care.

Lol. Overkill, but better safe than sorry I suppose. I will always still drive my new cars around, but generally never let it go more than a week before getting in for protection.

I had to wait a few months to get the car in for the clear bra and ceramic coating. My hood had a few very small chips but you can not see them with the bra now.

I didn't get a clear bra & I regret it.

14k miles & there are specks of rock chips on the front bumper. I had touched some up, and its hard to tell unless you look for it.

Once it stops raining, gonna touch up some more spots.

I will never own a car without a clear bra, they are amazing but my last IS had one installed when it was brand new. I traded her in for a newer model IS last year but it was used and had a few chips already plus it is black so more noticeable. I wanted the Clear Bra and the dealership ended up throwing it in for free when I bought the car but asked them what they would do about the clips that are already there? They just filled them in with paint before installing the Bra, you can't even tell.

Did you just use a touch up pen from Lexus?

Did you do it after washing/claying?
