Default Scratch on hood

Hi guys, I was washing my car (16 IS200t Ultra White) yesterday and noticed a very long scratch right down the middle of the hood. I have the touch up paint but that didn't seem to work. I know when I turn in my car, lexus will charge me because the scratch is pretty long it's hard to tell in picture because of angle/lighting. I think someone might've keyed it. Its so obvious and I'm very picky about my car. It's driving me insane and it hasn't even been 24 hours since I've noticed it. What can/should I do?

Try a professional detailer in your area. They can do wonders with scratches.

If you cannot feel the scratch with your finger nail then it can be buffed out with some type of compound easily or at the least make it less noticeable.

Try Meg's scratchx 2.0.

MF tower or foam pad, and buff it in. Usually works on lighter scratches. Ex. fingernails.

not sure where in Florida you're located but there is a fantastic detailer out there called high end detail. Check out his Instagram page for paint correction that he does on various vehicles. If anybody can get that out Josue can. Again it's called High End Detail and I know he's based in the Florida area I'm just not sure where.

For a scratch like that, i would just recommend some meguiars cleaners wax. Since our lexus clear coat is very soft, i think if you used scratchx, it would require some polishing afterwards. With cleaner wax, it is alot milder and is an all in one solution

Scratchx 2.0 is very mild. Can be done by hand or with polisher. I used it before, and the result looks good. Mainly used for light scratches and belmishes. Perfectly safe for clear coat. Just buff it in and wipe the residue.

However, OP's situation is more than a light scratch. Don't think Scratchx 2.0 would be effective. But its good to try stuff with mild solutions first.

UPDATE: took it for a car wash and asked them to buff it out and clay the front. Luckily the scratch was only in the clear coat. All good now, can't even tell.
